“I wanted to design something that could turn on people’s imagination.”
Designer Dima Loginoff is the creative mind behind Preciosa Lighting’s newest solitaire. Called Siren, Mr. Loginoff dipped into the unknown for inspiration but the design still has his hallmark familiar, yet new; traditional yet trendy look.

“The underworld mysterious world full of strange semi transparent lighting creatures caught my imagination while I was designing this pendant,” he said. “Siren is a mythical creature, beautiful, delphian, enigmatic and dangerously inviting. The fantasy inspired me to design the eye-catching suspension - simple, stylish and minimal.”
Siren is making its debut at Maison & Objet 2018 in Paris. It’s playful nature and ability to be tailored makes it a flexible option for a range of spaces. The bell shape may be traditional but Mr. Loginoff’s use of different colours and surfaces is anything but.
“My point is to counter the traditional with modern and unique,” he said.
“It’s not a very easy task because everyone uses traditional ideas. That’s always the challenge for my imagination.” Siren is the first collaboration between Mr. Loginoff and Preciosa Lighting.
“I am happy that Preciosa isn’t afraid of style experiments,” he said. “And I am extremely happy to see how they made it, I mean the quality is unbelievable! This was an amazing experience for me. And I really hope it will be a wonderful experience for the customers - to use our lamps.”
Mr. Loginoff is a versatile designer who creates products for global brands and interior designers. His work can be seen in both public and private spaces, and has been featured at a number of design fairs. Even though lighting isn’t the only product he designs, it does hold a special, challenging place for him.
“Designing lighting is my most favourite but also the most complicated thing in my work,” he said. “Lighting is like jewellery and the market demands much more from lighting than from furniture, tableware etc. A sofa could be simple like a simple elegant dress. But lighting should be an eye-catcher!”
