Designed by the renowned Brooklyn-based Crème Architecture and Design, the Hyatt Centric Center City hotel is nothing short of a masterpiece. The design takes inspiration from the region’s industrial roots and its rich craft traditions. It offers an upscale experience that blends sophisticated simplicity with a muted palette and plenty of raw wood accents for an elevated rustic look.

Preciosa Lighting worked with Créme to craft many industrial-inspired fixtures throughout the property in both guest and public spaces. We added an eclectic mix of light fixtures to the dining areas. First were four pendants featuring a blackened satin copper finish and hand-blown glass for the bar area. Next, restaurant guests dine beneath pendants featuring milky white spheres accompanied by matching table lamps. To complete the look, a long linear pendant, more than two metres, adds another bright spark to the space.

In the lobby on the second floor, Preciosa’s installation consisting of 15 intricately-shaped and suspended black wire baskets, glows with a gentle warmth. An inner lantern is placed within each basket, creating an inviting atmosphere and matching beautifully the golden wood-wrapped space.

In the private spaces, nearly 700 wall sconces manufactured by Preciosa adorn the corridors and guest rooms. Both designs feature industrial-inspired blackened copper finishes.
