Château Élan Winery & Resort is a luxury property just north of Atlanta in the foothills of the North Georgia mountains. It offers a destination experience complete with a winery, golf course, tennis centre, spa, and many fine dining options. A full redesign saw four new food and beverage outlets added and the Château’s guestrooms and suites, winery, as well as the resort lobby all given a fresh modern look by Atlanta-based interior and architectural design firm BLUR Workshop.

Designers took inspiration from the surrounding rolling hills and lush vineyards. The modern colour scheme focuses on variations of grey and taupe, warmed by rich wood accents and elegant lighting. White marble was included, while industrial touches like tufted leather and wrought iron balance the look. The panorama outside the Château is what inspired the statement chandelier dominating the resort’s atrium.

Pearl Wave is a Preciosa Signature Design. We worked with BLUR Workshop’s designers to customize the installation for their needs. While we originally envisioned Pearl Wave as a maritime-inspired chandelier designers here wanted a clear reflection from the land. Specifically, the flowing landscape of the vineyard that surrounds the Château Élan. The result is a 1,400-piece hand-blown glass chandelier shaped to resemble the shifting grape vines along the vast rolling hills of northern Georgia.

Three types of hand-blown spheres were used: light amber with bubbles, clear with bubbles, and frosted. The chandelier is nearly 27 meters long and more than 6 meters wide. It fits beautifully within the Atrium’s design of white marble, polished bronze, and gold accents.

We created two additional wall sconces for the Atrium that model this look. They feature two types of spheres curving along a satin brass surface finish form. As a final touch, we produced a coordinating chandelier and four wall sconces with linen fabric shades and an antique gold surface finish in collaboration with Jacqueline Failer from Design Continuum, Inc.
